This
1929 Canadian National Railways
caboose was moved from Trenton
in 1996. In operation it housed
the rear end brakemen who sat
in the "cupola" where
he could spot any trouble with
the rolling stock such as smoking
wheel bearings, uneven loads
or swaying cars. He could then
signal the engineer and prevent
further disaster. The reconditioned
caboose now serves as an information
centre at the museum.
